sacrifice
The modern motion picture of today has become one of the biggest venues for entertainment in history. Movies are always made to turn a profit. However, movies are not always seen only in the quest entertainment. The films I refer to are of course mostly historical films. Historical films are great because they allow us see and almost feel what it felt like to be a part of that time period. The importance of historical accuracy should be the utmost especially in military film. To get some fact or detail out of place is a discredit to the men and women who served during that time. Pearl Harbor is iconic December 7, 1941 is a date blazed into the mind of every American young and old. That day was long considered the epitome of tragedy until 9/11/01. The attack on Pearl Harbor by the japanese was quick and a decisive victory. The movie Pearl Harbor is a portrayal of the life that goes on at the navy base at Pearl Harbor. The movie is centered around a squadron of fighter pilots specifically two Rafe, and Danny. Part of the movie is dedicated to a twisted love triangle between Rafe and Danny and woman. However, the largest part of the movie is geared towards the situation a pilot encounters during a time of war. The constant training the loss of friends and the very real possibility of being deployed for battle. The movie shows some of what the every day activities would have been like. This movie for me is great because I have always enjoyed history and I love those WWII fighter planes so I look forward to writing more on this event and this movie.
